Laceweb Action - July 2001

First ride on a horse
Seems Geoff's ways of working with at-risk Aboriginal and Islander youth has relevance for re-introducing youth who have been engaged in the Bougainville conflict back into local communities.

Confidence and balance
Geoff works with a young relative on gaining confidence and balance.

Will I get on the horse?
Another young relative is being stretched by the possibility of riding a big horse.

Yes ! I can!
Noticing the confident, 'I can do this' walk. Over the past 23 years Geoff and Norma have supported and enabled life change in a number of thousand Aboriginal, Islander and other at-risk youth.

See I can do it!
Small and large achievements as change-process, and while providing all manner of life-skill experiences during the day, Geoff provides EEG Neuro-feedback therapy to youth of an evening.

Geoff using EEG Neurofeedback
Geoff skillfully uses EEG neurofeedback to support boys away from addictions and to remove attention deficit hyperactivity disorders and other dysfunction.

You're magnificent!
Geoff has the Order of Australia Medal for his work. He is magnificent in giving recognition.

After the ride
This is what our little rider looks like.

Early morning exercise
After an hour of storytelling each morning, Geoff and the boys typically do some exercise.

Catch me if you can
In his seventies, Geoff can still outrace the fastest boy up the hill. Geoff is continually giving them small challenges and works with the free energy.
